Pre-Incubation Consultancy

Pam Voisey had 25 years experience as a strategic marketing research professional before joining a South Wales based university in 2002 as the manager of a European funded business incubation unit.

Her experience of working across manufacturing and service industries, as well as on public sector projects proved an asset when supporting entrepreneurs to develop new business ideas, and grow successful and sustainable businesses. She was part of the team that developed the UK’s first online retail grocery portal, helping the developers understand the customer’s mental model of shopping online. In hindsight, this period of her life was actually a brilliant business education, and led eventually to her gaining an MBA in 2004, followed by an Introduction to Teaching Certificate and working with students, graduates and other entrepreneurs to grow some wonderfully successful businesses in what was ‘industrial South Wales’.

Pam works with people, and inside businesses. She takes the view that businesses reflect the attitude of the owners, their strengths and weaknesses. Her consultancy seeks to be holistic, realistic and practical, reflecting the need to make profits and be congruent with the objectives of the founding entrepreneurs. Her definition of business is simple: “problem-solving for money” ©. She agrees with the late, great Jim Rohn: ‘Success is neither magical nor mysterious, but results from the consistent application of sound principles’.

In 2013 Pam has embarked on a programme of courses to bring her skills up to date, and strengthen her skillset.
• ILM Level 7 Executive Mentoring and Coaching
• UHOVI Finance for Non-Financial Managers
• Market Research Society Masterclass: Summer School
• Market Research Society Masterclass: Advanced Thinking in Qualitative Research
• Msc Strategic ICT Leadership (Edinburgh Napier University/current student)
• Academic Research leading to PhD by Publication: A Business Incubation Model for Enterprise Development

Pam’s vision is to be useful in the world, to be excellent at what she does, and make the businesses and entrepreneurs she works with more profitable, more knowledgeable and less stressed!
